The Experience of Serving the Customer's Customer - and How We Can Grow From It

Society is going through an intense phase of transformation. Most, if not all, of them impact the industry that supplies ingredients and foods. New behaviors, regulatory requirements, consumption habits... all of this has influenced our decisions at Cargill and our daily efforts to understand end-consumer demands and deliver the best solutions to customers.
Given this diversification of trends, the profile of operators has been changing and Cargill has been changing along with it. This includes the evolution of the portfolio with selected ingredients, practical and sustainable packaging and traceability of products that strengthen aspects such as quality, taste, and environmental responsibility. In parallel, we also realize that consumers want to enjoy taste and texture in food, without feeling guilty. Through research, we have better understood the unmet demands and expectations of customers in the baking segment, for example, to identify opportunities – such as the fact that desire, reward, and celebration often overcome barriers such as concern for health and diet. It is through this continuous search, research, and dedication that we set new standards for innovation and collaboration. We anticipate trends and regulations, taking a stance to be more than a leading supplier of food ingredients, oils, fats, starches, sweeteners, and cocoa to deliver what the consumer truly values: more texture and taste, greater healthiness with reduced trans and saturated fats and solutions to reduce sugars. It is through this continuous search, research, and dedication that we set new standards for innovation and collaboration.
